PUBLIC HEARING RE: REVISIONS TO 2002 AND 2003 STATE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAMS
Council President Richard George called the public hearing of the Waynesboro Borough Council to order at 7:15 p.m. with the following in attendance:
Borough Council Members – Allen Porter, Jason Stains, Craig Newcomer, Richard George, Charles McCammon and Allen Berry
Mayor Richard Starliper
Borough Staff – Lloyd R. Hamberger, II, Borough Manager
Dan Sheffler, Zoning-Code Enforcement Officer
Denny Benshoff, Maintenance Superintendent
Ray Shultz, Police Chief
Kevin Grubbs, Head of Engineering Services
Ron Flegel, Fire Chief
Melissa Dively, Borough Solicitor (Salzmann Hughes, PC)
President George noted that the purpose of this hearing was to provide an opportunity for citizens to comment on changes to the distribution of 2002 and 2003 Community Development Block Grant funds.
He explained that the Borough intends to shift funds from Housing Rehabilitation and Removal of Architectural Barriers to the Street Improvement Programs for 2002 and 2003. The Borough will transfer $35,000 from the FY 2002 Housing Rehabilitation line item and $4,208 from the FY 2002 Removal of Architectural Barriers to the FY 2002 Street Improvement line item. The Borough will also transfer $77,000 from the FY 2003 Housing Rehabilitation line item and $5,509 from the FY 2003 Removal of Architectural Barriers to the FY 2003 Street Improvement line item. This shift will eliminate the FY 2002 and 2003 Housing Rehabilitation and Removal of Architectural Barriers line items.
Public comments were requested. Hearing none, President George adjourned the hearing at 7:20 p.m.
